How to Buy Wholesale
Procurement, or the process of sourcing product for your eBay store, is a
personal journey with a handful of pathways. Here are five ways to find
wholesale sources, which we discuss in our eBook, CONFESSIONS OF A
REAL LIVE POWERSELLER:
- Sleuthing Manufacturers (the true wya to find wholesalers)
- Finding Sales Reps.
- Attending Tradeshows
- Joining Co-operatives / Drop shippers
- Shopping Liquidators
To get the best wholesale source, you'll need to buy our book. In the
interim, here is a list wholesale sources (liquidators and aggregators, and
some specialty drop shippers), which you may also find helfpul.
Liquidators
If you like the idea of saving money, but don't want to hassle with the
membership fees of drop shippers, you should consider buying from
liquidators. While liquidators offer heavily discounted prices all types of
gifts, toys, electronics, housewares and just about everything else you
need for your home, they are not true wholesalers. Like drop shippers,
they are the middle men, getting a cut of the action. Liquidators are great
if you'd like to practice the art of arbitrage (buying low in one market and
selling high in another). Here are some great sources:
Aggregators - these include companies that usually stock nothing and
buy from a distributor when you place an order. It is very hard to make
money with these sources and very few actually make money from these
sources.
Specialty Drop shippers
If you have a niche in these areas, these sites will be helpful.
